Haiti is host country to Carifesta XII. Trinidad and Tobago has a participating contingent made up of Master Visual Artist, Leroy Clarke, emerging visual artist, Keomi Serrette and the Supernovas Steel Orchestra. Director of Culture, Mrs. Ingrid Ryan-Ruben and Mr Damian Richardson are the culture officials leading the contingent during their stay between the 20-26 August, 2015.

Upon accepting the invitation to be part of this cultural offering, Leroy Clarke had the following to say:

“On this the occasion of the twelfth Anniversary of CARIFESTA, Eye am extremely delighted at making my forth appearance in this ever-most grand, cultural event that never fails to attract favourable world ratings for the richness of its vast diversity of expressions that do not fail to presence traditional, as well as contemporary modes that preserve authentic signatures that declare affirmation to the definition of Caribbean Space!

… we are quite satisfied that those of us who are here representing our Trinidad and Tobago, bring with us a degree of Patriotism to our overall perspectives at voicing that relish for further emblazoning, via a critical trail set by artistic prowess to ensconce our greatest values in our service at restoring the viability God-spirit to Humanity!

My participation in this auspiciously staged, permit me, “Communion of the Beholden” has given me the opportunity to bring a sampling of two of most recent series RITUALS & REVELATIONS and EYE HAYTI… CRIES… EVERYWHERE… to this Symposium. Opportunity will be gained by my presence here, at CARIFESTA to elucidate the  subject and its relevance at this time. Surely, my expectations are very high, given the present state of, not only our region, but, that of the world!

May God bless our efforts!”
