Professional Arts

The Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts is committed to improving the quality of Trinidad and Tobago’s artists and cultural workers and uses different ways to create opportunities for our creatives to operate at the highest level.

These approaches include providing bona fide and certified recognition of artists and cultural workers, through the National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers, so that they may exploit their talent locally, regionally and internationally.

Additionally, the national performing arts organisations that have been established by the Ministry of the Arts and Multiculturalism – the National Steel Symphony Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra and, the National Theatre Arts Company, provide opportunities for persons in the performing arts – music and theatre, to explore full-time engagement and exploration of their art. Musicians, conductors, composers, playwrights, actors, and directors among others, can work on creating and exploring new and existing material. Also, members of the public get to enjoy the highest standard of performances at community and national levels put on by these organisations.
