Carnival: The Blueprint

The French word “feter” which means to party is at the root of the Trinidadian and Tobagonian derived verb, “to fete.” For Trinidadians and Tobagonians to fete means much more than party. It means to eat, to drink, to dance, to jump and to be so filled with such joy that you jump, you prance and you fully enjoy the moment. The fete ‘vibe’ then, drives a lot of the fun experienced in a Trinidad and Tobago-style Carnival. Whether the experience is a calypso competition, a soca competition, a chutney soca competition or a Kiddies Carnival parade, the Trinidadian and Tobagonian fully ensconces himself/herself in the experience.
