The National Steel Symphony hosts multiple youth groups during the school vacation period.

Republic Pan Minors Visit 10

The National Steel Symphony Orchestra (NSSO) hosted a series of  workshops and mini-concerts for a range of young persons during July 2015.  The NSSO received visits from the Cultural Academy for Excellence (C.A.F.E.), a Maryland based, non-profit organisation focusing on music-based art-in-education and life-skills enrichment program for young people and the 2015 cohorts of the Republic Bank Pan Minors, Guayagayare Vacation Camp, Potential Symphony Music Camp, South East Port of Spain Music Camp and the Guaico Presbyterian Primary School.

NSSO Guaico Visit 9

During the visits, each group was afforded the opportunity to meet the NSSO’s musical director and conductor, Mr. Jessel Murray, as well as enjoy a mini-concert performed by the NSSO.  The visits all culminated with interactive introductions to the range of NSSO’s instruments and the excited visitors were helped through their musical paces on the instruments by the members of the NSSO. Our collection of photographs below managed to capture some of the priceless moments of the workshops.
