Special events for Heritage Week and Calypso History Month from the National Trust

The National Trust of Trinidad and Tobago joins the public in celebrating Heritage Week and Calypso History Month 2015 with an offering of events open to the public.

Later today, Thursday 15 October, 2015, in partnership with the Santa Rosa First Peoples Community, there will be a free screening of the film “Buried Treasure” at the Santa Rosa First Peoples Centre. They are located at Paul Mitchell Street, Arima. The film runs from 5:00-6:30pm.

The National Trust also has oversight over the exhibition component of the activities scheduled for Friday 16th October at the Brian Lara Promenade from 10am onward.

Later in the month, the action heads to Nelson Island for the event called “Vintage Calypso on Nelson Island.” Calypso Tour The public is invited to spend a few hours on Saturday 31st October, 2015, from 3:00-7:00pm, exploring Nelson Island’s buildings, trails and ruins.   The main attraction is a special Vintage Calypso performance by Lord Superior.

The price of the tour activity is $200 for National Trust Members and Seniors and $300 for non-members (includes sea transport and guided tour costs). This event requires pre-bookings and payment at the National Trust office at 35A Wrightson Road, Port of Spain.
