The information below reflects some of the projects of the Culture Division from 2008 to present.

2008

ACTIVITY DETAILS
CARIFESTA X Management of a contingent of more than 200 participants in Guyana, August 22-31, 2008. Representation was provided across all the performing arts and the visual, culinary and literary arts. Representation included three theatrical productions: Ogun Iyan, Ramleela and Masquerade.

2009

ACTIVITY DETAILS
Evolution of the Steelpan and Pan in Art ExhibitionOngoing exhibition at Fort San Andres, the Museum of Port-of-Spain, which was launched on August 28th 2009. The Exhibition celebrates the ingenuity of our people by tracing the innovations that link the African drum to the contemporary steel pan. It also features a collection of fine art and craft inspired by our national instrument.
Pan CampExecuted in August 2009 in collaboration with the Tropical Angel Harps Steel Orchestra, it exposed young participants to the steelpan and life skills.
Culture Tutor Performance Workshop Collaboration with Rivers Music, taught marketing and professional development skills to 47 graduating performing artists from August 15–23 2009.
Decades of Dance: An Exhibition Installed in September, 2009, this is an exhibition on the façade of the Division’s Office at 51-55 Frederick Street that will features photography from Mr. Jeffrey Chock that depicts our finest Dance Companies in performance.
National Theatre Arts Company of Trinidad and Tobago Establishment of a company and staging of debut Production, Dance Me, Lover, November 12-16, 2009.
The People’s Space, Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting Multifaceted public event which featured multiple opportunities to experience arts of T&T from November 17-31, 2009. It allowed for patrons to experience a craft display and market, Literature and the spoken word, Gospel, Indian dance and music of all genres, Calypso, Soca, Drama, Parang, Stickfighting, and Creole, Indian and Christmas cuisine.

2010

ACTIVITY DETAILS
George Bailey: An Exhibition Redesign and refurbishment of exhibition created by Mr. Albert Bailey, housed at the Museum of the City of Port-of-Spain.
NAPA Fest A concert series over the period April to July 2010 highlighting the performing arts, whilst celebrating youth, recognizing masters and displaying artistic excellence.
Panyard Music School Training in multiple instruments and music literacy at the Tropical Angel Harps Steel Orchestra Panyard.
Evolution of the Steelpan Exhibition, 2010 World Expo China Presentation on the evolution of the steelpan at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China.
